Health Insurance 2023 - 2024
Â鶹ɫ²¥ requires all students living in campus housing, international students, student-athletes (club as well as intercollegiate sports), and students in health-related fields of study who will be participating in external learning experiences (clinical affiliations, internships, etc.) to be covered by health insurance that offers adequate coverage in the Buffalo/Amherst area.
International studentsÌýwill be enrolled in the Â鶹ɫ²¥ StudentÌýHealth Insurance planÌýto ensure adequateÌýcoverageÌýwhile in the U.S.
ADEQUATE COVERAGE INCLUDES (BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO):
- Access to local doctors and otherÌýhealth careÌýproviders
- Diagnostic testing/lab services
- Prescription drugs coverage
- Outpatient mental health services
- Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
- Emergency services
- Urgent care coverage
Students must provide the Health & Insurance Services Office with a photocopy of their health insurance card prior to their first semester and annually thereafter.
If you do not provide proof of adequate insurance (a plan that can be used in the Buffalo/Amherst area), you will be enrolled in the Â鶹ɫ²¥Ìýinsurance planÌýand the premium will be added to your studentÌýaccount. Once enrolled, the premium is non-refundable.

Challenge Examination Fee: $100.00 per class plus Tuition fee $30.00 per credit hour
Regular and part-time students mayÌýauditÌýcourses by completing and filing with the Registrar theÌýPermission toÌýAuditÌýform, by including the courses asÌýAUDITÌýon their semester load, and by paying the appropriate fee(s), if applicable.
Subject to available space, Â鶹ɫ²¥ also welcomes alumni and senior citizens as auditors at no tuition charge, although the payment of appropriate university fees (for materials, labs, etc.) may be required.Ìý Students may change their status in any credit course to that of anÌýauditÌýby filing with the Registrar's Office the appropriate Drop/Add form, up to and including the last date for authorized withdrawal from a course. Consult the Academic Calendar for the exact dates.ÌýAuditingÌýof courses is subject to the permission of the instructor.
